Miguel Varela finalizes historic investment in social housing for Zacatecas

Miguel Varela, the mayor of Zacatecas, has secured a historic investment for the construction of social housing in the city, aiming to provide decent housing for families without financing options.

Miguel Varela, the mayor of Zacatecas, successfully advocated for a significant investment in social housing after direct negotiations with the Federal Presidency and a meeting with President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo in Aguascalientes. This collaboration between municipal and federal authorities aims to address the urgent housing needs of families in the capital who currently lack institutional financing options.

The agreement will facilitate the construction of 1,000 social housing units in Zacatecas, with an estimated budget of approximately 600 million pesos. This funding is intended to create a housing project that enhances access to dignified living conditions, especially for those sectors of the population that have been historically underserved and unable to secure adequate housing.

Luis Fernando Maldonado Moreno, the General Director of Infrastructure and Public Works, confirmed the formalization of the agreement with the Ministry of Agrarian, Territorial, and Urban Development, as well as the National Housing Commission. This initiative is expected to significantly impact the local community by providing essential housing solutions and improving living standards for many families in Zacatecas.
