Google has announced plans to construct two fiber optic routes that will facilitate improved connectivity between the United States and India. This initiative aims to leverage existing fiber connections from allied nations to enhance the digital infrastructure. The two main routes involve connections from Vizag to Chennai and from Bombay to Western Australia, both designed to strengthen the international digital network linking these regions.

The first route, connecting Vizag and Chennai, will integrate with the Bosun-Tabua and Equiano-Tubem cables, establishing a vital link to the U.S. coastline. This project is not only focused on enhancing connectivity but also aims to solidify Vizag as an international submarine port, strengthen India's backbone digital network, and provide critical diversity in landing points between Mumbai and Chennai. The second route will connect Bombay with Western Australia and will integrate with the TalayLink and Honomoana cables, providing another crucial link in the transcontinental digital network.
