Aunt and niece die in accident between motorcycle and car in RN
A tragic accident in Brazil's Rio Grande do Norte resulted in the deaths of an aunt and her niece following a collision between their motorcycle and a car.
In a devastating incident on the RN-203 highway in Barcelona, Rio Grande do Norte, a collision resulted in the deaths of 25-year-old Winia Lima, who was riding the motorcycle, and her 60-year-old aunt, Maria das Graças. The accident occurred around 8 a.m. while the pair were leaving Fazenda Ramanda and were attempting to enter the access road to Barcelona. Witnesses and the police reported the circumstances surrounding the event, emphasizing the unfortunate nature of the crash.
The motorcycle collided with a Toyota Corolla, driven by a 33-year-old man from Cerro Corá, who fortunately was uninjured. After the collision, Maria das Graças died at the scene, and despite being transported to a hospital, her niece Winia succumbed to her injuries later that morning. This tragic event has left the local community mourning, highlighting the dangers faced by motorcyclists on the roads.
Following the incident, due to the fatalities involved, the case has been taken over by the Civil Police, who are conducting further investigations. The Scientific Police have also been engaged to perform forensic analysis at the crash site and will oversee the necropsies of the deceased.
