Nuevo León presents candidacy for American State of Sport 2027

Nuevo León has officially presented its candidacy to be recognized as the American State of Sport for 2027 by ACES Europe.

Nuevo León, Mexico, has officially launched its candidacy to be recognized as the American State of Sport for 2027 during a presentation at the Government Palace. This recognition is awarded by ACES Europe, and a delegation including Melody Falcó, the General Director of INDE, along with ACES representatives and UNESCO affiliates, assessed the state's sports model over a three-day visit. The presentation highlighted Nuevo León's established sports culture and emphasized the state's community identity tied to athletics.

During the event, the significant efforts made by the government towards sports infrastructure and community development were underscored, noting that there are over 500 active sports venues across the state. Additionally, the state’s substantial offering of professional sports events in football, basketball, tennis, and other disciplines, along with Universiades and amateur tournaments, were showcased as evidence of Nuevo León's commitment to fostering sports.

Falcó emphasized the quality and variety of the competitions organized in the region, demonstrating the state's capacity to host high-caliber sporting events. This candidacy not only aims to enhance Nuevo León's reputation in sports on an international scale but also seeks to inspire further development and investment into local sports initiatives, potentially impacting the region's economic and social landscape positively.
