The Director General of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), Emilia Esther Calleja Alor, is conducting technical visits to the states hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup, focusing on strengthening electrical infrastructure in Nuevo León. During her second day on the work tour, she met with the governor, Samuel García Sepúlveda, at the Palace of Government in Nuevo León to discuss updates and requirements for the coming event.

Calleja highlighted that Nuevo León boasts a 99.99% electric coverage across its 51 municipalities, serving over 2.26 million users, including more than 61,000 industrial customers crucial to the region's economic vibrancy. The improvements to the electrical systems are essential not only for the tournament but also to sustain ongoing economic activities and residential needs within the state.

The governor raised several technical queries during their discussions, reinforcing that Nuevo León is equipped to handle both regular demand and the additional requirements posed by the World Cup events.
