1,000 Osun students receive free UTME, WAEC forms
Around 1,000 underprivileged students in Osun State have received free examination forms to support their access to higher education.
In a significant initiative aimed at supporting underprivileged students, about 1,000 indigent senior secondary school students from various communities in Osun State have been provided with free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and West African Examination Council (WAEC) forms. This initiative was facilitated by Mr. Ayodele Asalu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, as part of a program celebrating its 10th anniversary in Ejigbo, Osun State.
The program, which began in 2016, focuses on empowering students who demonstrate academic potential but lack the financial means to pursue higher education. During the event in Ejigbo, Asalu emphasized the importance of increasing the number of beneficiaries to meet the growing needs of students in the constituency. Over the years, the initiative has seen a substantial impact, culminating in the distribution of over 7,000 examination forms since its inception.
This effort not only reflects a community-centric approach towards education but also highlights the role of political figures in social investment. Asaluβs initiative aligns with the broader educational goals of the APC and serves to address educational inequalities in the region, thus promoting academic advancement among the youth in Osun State.
