Jundiaí adopts rental assistance for victims of violence; see how to register
Jundiaí has joined the SP government program offering R$ 500 in rental assistance to women victims of domestic violence.
The city of Jundiaí, located in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, has implemented a new program aimed at aiding women who are victims of domestic violence by providing R$ 500 in rental assistance. This policy is part of a broader initiative by the São Paulo state government to support vulnerable populations. Women wishing to benefit from this program must register with the municipal social assistance services and provide proof of their vulnerable status, including necessary documentation that shows they meet eligibility criteria such as having a protective measure issued by the court and a maximum income of two minimum wages before separation.
Currently, the program has already started benefiting some women in Jundiaí, with reports indicating that twelve women are receiving assistance while several more are under evaluation. Notably, the program is inclusive, extending assistance to women from areas that have not yet adopted the program, ensuring that those affected by domestic violence across the broader region can still receive necessary aid. Women from these other cities can apply by submitting a request via email to the designated government address.
This initiative represents a crucial step in providing necessary financial support to women who find themselves in precarious living situations due to domestic violence. By allowing access to rental assistance and establishing a streamlined registration process, Jundiaí aims to alleviate some of the pressures faced by vulnerable individuals actively seeking refuge and a fresh start away from their abusers.
