Due to the strike, the City asks not to take out the trash because there will be no waste collection

The Government of Buenos Aires advised residents not to put out their garbage due to a strike that will halt waste collection overnight.

The Buenos Aires city government has urged residents not to put out their garbage on Wednesday night in anticipation of a strike organized by the CGT labor federation. This strike is set for Thursday and is in protest against the ongoing discussions regarding labor reform in the Argentine Chamber of Deputies, leading to a suspension of waste collection services. The authorities have informed that regular waste collection will resume on Thursday night after the strike concludes.

In addition to the waste collection halt, the government announced the preventive removal of 140 trash containers across over 60 blocks in the vicinity of the National Congress. This measure is taken in light of the expected protests against the labor reform, ensuring public safety and order during the demonstrations. Once the protests have ended, officials assured that the containers will be returned to their original placements.

The local government is also preparing to implement a special intensive cleaning operation in the areas surrounding the Congress to maintain cleanliness and hygiene following the protest, emphasizing their commitment to restore normal city operations after the disturbances. These actions reflect the broader tensions surrounding labor reform in Argentina and the government's efforts to manage the implications of public discontent.
