Residents of São José dos Campos, in the State of São Paulo, are increasingly worried about a giant crater that has expanded at the border between Parque Residencial União and Campos dos Alemães. Local news reports indicate that, although the crater is not new, it has gotten larger, particularly after recent rainfall, raising fears it could threaten nearby roads. The crater is located along Estrada do Imperador, a key road in the southern region of the city.

A team from Rede Vanguarda visited the site and confirmed the residents' concerns. The city government has not yet issued any official statements regarding the situation, although a notice installed by the local administration suggests that the construction project related to the crater was supposed to have been completed earlier in the month. According to the sign, the estimated cost of the project is around R$ 124,839.02, with an original completion date set for December 10, 2025. However, the excavation work has faced significant delays and is now over that deadline.

The ongoing expansion of the crater poses not only risks to safety for the residents but also potential infrastructural implications for the surrounding area.
