Bendika and Volfa share impressions about their great performance in the relay
Latvian biathletes Baiba Bendika and Estere Volfa reflect on their performance in the 4x6 kilometer relay at the Olympics, where their team finished in 17th place.
Latvian biathlete Baiba Bendika expressed confidence in her physical condition, suggesting she could compete for a high position in the final lap of the race during an interview with LETA. The Latvian team, consisting of Bendika, Estere Volfa, Sanita BuliΕa, and Annija Keita Sabule, finished 17th in the Olympic 4x6 kilometer relay, a long-standing showcase of Olympic biathlon talent.
Volfa had a strong start, holding 11th place after the second shooting phase but managed to pass several competitors, handing over the baton to Bendika in 6th place. Bendika excelled in her segment of the relay, propelling the Latvian team into a leading position, even despite her teammates' unsuccessful runs after her. This display highlighted the teamβs potential and resilience on a significant stage such as the Olympics.
Bendika shared her joy at being able to demonstrate Latvia's strength in the race and emphasized her determination to finish competitively despite the mental fatigue that accumulates as the Olympics progress.
