The Lithuanian women's biathlon team has made a significant milestone by participating in their inaugural relay race, showcasing the growing presence of female athletes in this sport. In the relay, the team consisted of Judita Traubaitė, Lidija Žurauskaitė, Natalija Kočergina, and Sara Urumova, with the first two legs proving challenging as they navigated through the race despite formidable competition.

Judita Traubaitė led the team but faced difficulties during the initial shooting stages, using all three spare shots and finishing in 19th place. Despite the challenges, her performance set a notable tone for the relay, although the team lagged behind by nearly a minute and a half. As the race progressed, Lidija Žurauskaitė had an inconsistent run, initially hitting targets perfectly but failing three times later, which led to a substantial delay for the team, keeping them at the back of the pack.

With Natalija Kočergina taking the third leg, the team faced the threat of being lapped by the leading French squad, emphasizing the competitive nature of the event. Despite these hardships, the Lithuanian ladies' participation is a stepping stone for future events, reflecting the team's determination and dedication to the sport, while also inspiring a new generation of female biathletes in Lithuania.
