Em Cima da Hora won the Maués Carnival championship for the second consecutive year despite a heavy downpour during their parade.

The samba school Em Cima da Hora has successfully defended its title at the Maués Carnival 2026, held in the interior of Amazonas, Brazil. The results, announced on February 17, confirmed the school's triumph with an impressive score of 298.7 points. This year’s theme, 'No Giro do Carnazodíaco, a Soberana é de Touro! E você, é de qual signo?' showcased creativity and resilience, as the performance continued even under a substantial rainfall that commenced at the start of their presentation.

The parade was held on Monday, February 16, and despite the adverse weather conditions, the participants of Em Cima da Hora displayed remarkable dedication, ensuring the strength of their performance until the very end. The event not only highlighted the school's prowess in samba dancing and music but also the community spirit, as fans gathered to celebrate their victory, transforming the Avenida do Samba into a festive hub after the scores were revealed. Following Em Cima da Hora were the schools Mocidade de Santa Luzia, Império Verde e Rosa, and Unidos do Ramalho Júnior, who rounded out the competing teams with scores of 297.5, 296.9, and 295.9 points respectively.
