In the early hours of Ash Wednesday (February 18), a grave accident occurred in Residencial Buriti, Santarém, located in western Pará, Brazil. Emergency services were initially called to respond to a reported pedestrian accident, but upon arrival, they discovered that it was actually a collision between a car and a motorcycle. The local Societal Transit Management (SMT) confirmed this information based on eyewitness accounts.
Witness reports indicated that the individuals involved in the accident appeared to be intoxicated, with a cooler containing alcoholic beverages found at the scene. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was deployed to provide initial medical assistance to the victims, who were two men. One victim sustained abrasions across his body, while the other appeared to be in worse condition, showing signs of a leg fracture.
Both victims were transported to the Santarém Emergency Room for further treatment.
