At the Metropolitan Cathedral of Montes Claros, a special mass presided over by Dom José Carlos is set for 7 PM, officially marking the start of the Lenten season and the Fraternity Campaign, which this year focuses on “Fraternity and Housing,” with the theme derived from John 1:14, “He came to dwell among us.” This initiative emphasizes the importance of fraternity and community sharing, particularly concerning housing issues.

The celebrations feature the imposition of ashes across the community, a traditional ritual symbolizing humility, conversion, and renewal of life.
