Created mobile application 'My VID'
The Latvian State Revenue Service has launched a mobile application named 'My VID' to streamline access to popular tax services and simplify tax declaration processes for users.
The Latvian State Revenue Service (VID) has introduced a mobile application called 'My VID' that allows users to conveniently utilize frequently used tax services on their smart devices. This development is aimed at enhancing the efficiency of tax-related functionalities offered to citizens, showcasing the government's commitment to digital innovations within public services. With the app, users can easily snap pictures and send receipts for legitimate expenses directly to the VID's Electronic Declaration System (EDS), thereby simplifying the annual income declaration process significantly.
Currently, the application provides a feature for users to photograph and submit expense receipts, such as those for medical or educational services, which will automatically attach to the relevant income declaration forms for the year. Moreover, it offers a way for individuals to manage their payroll tax records by marking applicable tax reliefs and specifying which workplace income they wish to apply these reliefs to. Additionally, users can adjust the list of dependents, adding or removing children or spouses as necessary, making tax management more personalized and straightforward.
The app is available for download on both 'Google Play' and 'App Store,' and it supports devices operating on Android version 12 and iOS version 16 or later. The launch of this application in early access mode offers users a chance to explore its features while also providing feedback for further improvements, reflecting an ongoing effort to incorporate user experiences in the refinement of digital government services.
