You have the last days to fix the e-application for high schools, fifteen percent of parents need to manually add grades
Parents have until February 20 to correct information on their children's high school e-applications, with technical issues affecting the submission process.
The deadline for submitting high school applications via the new e-Prihlášky portal in Slovakia is approaching, set for February 20. The centralized system, launched on February 8, received favorable reviews from education professionals and some school staff for its potential to enhance fairness and transparency in the application process. However, the rollout has been marred by technical difficulties, including issues with pairing grades and addresses, as well as unclear integration with Edupage, prompting immediate corrective measures from the Ministry of Education.
The Ministry of Education reported nearly 47,000 applications submitted electronically by mid-February, which accounts for about 78% of the expected total. Despite the positive reception, the complications have led to a significant number of parents—about 15%—needing to manually input grades. Officials advise parents to verify the accuracy of their applications promptly, as the window to make changes is quickly closing.
In light of these concerns, Education Minister Tomáš Drucker has indicated that an extension of the deadline may be considered if necessary. This development marks a critical moment as families navigate the intricacies of high school application processes during a challenging technical transition, underscoring the need for transparent communication and support from the education authorities to ensure all applicants are adequately accommodated before the final deadline.
