Tahini and Halva are winning over foreign markets

Greek company Afoi Chaitoglou is seeing a steady growth in tahini exports while celebrating 100 years of its popular halva brand, which is gaining seasonal popularity.

Afoi Chaitoglou, a Greek family business founded in 1924, has reported consistent growth in its tahini sales both in Greece and international markets. At an annual event held at the Ethos restaurant in Glyfada, the company shared insights about its core business, revealing that it currently supplies around 2,500 products to domestic and foreign markets where it has established substantial partnerships with retail chains.

The company also discussed its marketing campaign for the Macedonian Halva, marking its centennial this year, with the theme, "A Clean Monday and Once Upon a Time". This campaign showcases the product's cultural relevance and attempts to further increase its visibility, particularly during the Greek holiday season when halva consumption peaks.

Additionally, Afoi Chaitoglou launched a social responsibility initiative to support the blind community in Greece through the Lighthouse for the Blind. This initiative reflects the company's commitment to caring and inclusion, highlighting the importance of corporate social responsibility alongside its business growth aspirations.
