Shooting in event parking lot leaves injured in the interior of SP

Five people were injured in a shooting at an event space in Vera Cruz, São Paulo, during a party.

On the morning of Tuesday, 17th, a shooting incident occurred in Vera Cruz, São Paulo, leaving five individuals injured. The shooting took place in the parking lot of an event space located along the Comandante João Ribeiro de Barros Highway (SP-294), as detailed in a report from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP). The victims, aged between 17 and 30, were present at the event when altercations escalated into gunfire.

According to the Military Police, chaos erupted following a fight in the parking area, resulting in several shots being fired. Emergency responders were on-site due to the ongoing event, and two of the injured received immediate assistance from those ambulances. The other three individuals made their own way to the Hospital das Clínicas (HC) in Marília for treatment. Fortunately, all victims sustained only minor injuries and are in stable condition, eliminating any immediate risk of death from their wounds.

The incident has been classified as attempted homicide by the Vera Cruz Police Department, which is investigating the circumstances surrounding the altercation and shooting. The company managing the event space issued a statement indicating that they were only responsible for renting out the venue, highlighting the need for further scrutiny on security measures at large public gatherings.
