The gunman targeted his intended victim, as well as two other individuals who were present, resulting in gunfire that shocked the local community.
Witnesses to the shooting were quick to provide help, rushing the injured to the local Unidade de Pronto Atendimento (UPA) 21 de Junho. The intended target of the shooting suffered severe injuries and required transfer to Pronto-Socorro Vila Penteado for urgent care. Sadly, despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after. The other two victims were treated and not reported to be in life-threatening condition.
