In an incident that occurred early on Carnival Tuesday, a driver lost control of their vehicle while navigating a curve and crashed into the wall of the old cemetery in Gurupi, located in southern Tocantins. A video shared on social media depicted the car lodged across the cemetery wall, raising concerns about traffic safety in the area. Authorities were alerted to the situation, categorizing the situation as property damage.

The crash not only affected the cemetery's wall but also caused damage to an internal room within the cemetery. In response, the Gurupi City Hall has erected a barrier around the damaged area and is planning to make repairs to the structure. Upon arrival, the police teams confirmed the damage; however, there were no occupants found either inside the vehicle or in its vicinity. The police proceeded with administrative traffic notifications and have retained the vehicle involved in the incident, emphasizing the need for accountability and road safety measures as Carnival celebrations continue across the region.
