National Guard detected 1,146 illegal pipeline taps in the country during 2025

The report submitted to the Senate detailed the identification of 1,146 clandestine pipeline taps and the confiscation of over 6.4 million liters of gasoline, 7.7 million liters of diesel, and 592,000 liters of LP gas, among other substances. This highlights the ongoing struggle against organized crime and corruption in the fuel sector.

The report, which forms part of the National Guard's Annual Activity Report for 2025, also revealed that authorities apprehended 8,505 individuals throughout the year, indicating a proactive approach in law enforcement. Of these arrests, 2,375 were handed over to federal prosecutors, while others faced state authority jurisdiction. Further, the report noted significant seizures of vehicles, weapons, and illicit substances, reflecting the complexity of the challenges faced by the National Guard in maintaining public safety.

Tragically, the year also saw violent confrontations, with 115 civilians losing their lives in 191 armed encounters involving National Guard personnel.
