Reginaldo da Silva de Andrade, a 59-year-old former boxer known as 'Hollyfield', was released from custody after a court hearing in Salvador, Brazil, where he had been arrested for allegedly assaulting his niece at their family home. Following his arrest on Monday, the judge granted him provisional release but imposed several precautionary measures.
During the hearing, specific conditions were set for Reginaldo’s release, including mandatory appearances in court whenever required, the obligation to keep his address updated, and attendance at the court every two months for the next year to report on his activities. Additionally, he is forbidden from leaving his jurisdiction for more than ten days without judicial authorization, ensuring the court can monitor his whereabouts during the ongoing investigation.
The court also issued urgent protective measures in favor of the alleged victim, applying the protections outlined by Brazil’s Maria da Penha Law. This legislation is designed to prevent domestic violence and offers legal avenues for victims. As part of these measures, Reginaldo is prohibited from approaching his niece, highlighting the serious nature of the allegations and the judicial system's commitment to protecting potential victims.
