On the map: New Yorkdale project focuses on long-term renters
The New Yorkdale development by Fitzrovia emphasizes family-oriented living and long-term renting with spacious layouts in Toronto.
The newly proposed New Yorkdale development is set to attract long-term renters looking for family-friendly living arrangements in Toronto. Located near the Yorkdale shopping centre and a subway stop, this project features a three-tower community at the intersection of Dufferin and the 401. Fitzrovia, the developer behind the venture, has designed the space focusing on larger units, with about 65 percent of its 758 suites offering two or three bedrooms, a consideration for households seeking comfortable living spaces.
Adrian Rocca, the founder and CEO of Fitzrovia, emphasizes the importance of livability in their designs, stating that the suites are not merely larger but also intentionally crafted to avoid a cramped feeling. Featuring over 900 square feet of open-concept living space, alongside oversized kitchen islands and effectively spaced bedrooms, these apartments are tailored to offer a practical yet appealing living experience for families.
This project highlights a growing trend in the rental market, where larger, family-oriented layouts are becoming increasingly sought after. As urban centers expand and housing dynamics shift, the focus on accommodating households with genuine livable space could reshape the landscape of rental properties in Toronto, further emphasizing the need for long-term rental solutions in the face of increasing housing demand.
