Technical assistance and rural extension program will expand actions in Santarém and Mojuí dos Campos
The State of Pará's Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company signed technical cooperation agreements to enhance agricultural practices in Santarém and Mojuí dos Campos.
The State of Pará's Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company (Emater-Pará) has formalized technical cooperation agreements with the municipalities of Santarém and Mojuí dos Campos, aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Program (Proater) in these areas. This initiative is focused on sustainable development and strengthening family agriculture, which is crucial for local economies.
On the formalization day, local agricultural experts highlighted the importance of these agreements in implementing actions aimed at supporting local farmers. The agreements will help improve the productive activities of rural populations by offering essential training and resources. Notably, Marcelo Jares, the assistant supervisor at Emater's local office in Santarém, stated that this partnership would enhance the reach of public policies in the municipality, thus positively impacting local farmers' livelihoods.
As these municipalities work collaboratively with Emater-Pará, there is potential for increased agricultural productivity, improved economic stability, and heightened community engagement in sustainable farming practices. This collaboration indicates a broader trend towards reinforcing local agriculture through targeted support, which could serve as a model for other regions in Brazil facing similar challenges in agricultural development.
