Severe Weather: The emergency bulletin from EMY has been updated – Where intense phenomena are expected in the coming hours

Severe rain, thunderstorms, and high winds are expected to hit various regions in Greece shortly, according to the updated emergency bulletin from the National Meteorological Service.

Greece is bracing for severe weather conditions as the National Meteorological Service has issued an updated emergency bulletin. The forecast indicates heavy rains, thunderstorms, and potentially hail in several areas across the country. Specifically, regions such as Epirus and western Central Greece are expected to experience strong rainfall and storms until the afternoon, while heavy weather is also anticipated in western and southern Peloponnese and parts of Crete, especially in the west and south regions.

In addition to the expected rainfall and storms, the bulletin warns of very strong to gale-force winds. These winds are forecasted to blow in the Ionian Sea and the coastal areas of western mainland Greece, ranging from 7 to 9 Beaufort. As the evening approaches, winds are predicted to shift to northwesterly and intensify, reaching up to 9 to 10 Beaufort in the early hours of Wednesday, further increasing the severity of weather conditions across the country.
