Renowned author Irvine Welsh will participate in the Coyoacán International Book Fair, which will feature over 900 publishers and 350 cultural activities.
Irvine Welsh, the acclaimed author of 'Trainspotting', is set to participate in the fifth edition of the Coyoacán International Book Fair (Filco), alongside notable writers such as Laura Restrepo and Elena Poniatowska. This year’s event will take place from March 6 to 15 and promises to be expansive, featuring over 900 publishing houses, 2,000 invited guests, and 350 free cultural activities for the public to enjoy.
Gerardo Valenzuela, the president and founder of the fair, noted a significant increase in attendance and participation, stating that the visitors have grown from 280,000 in the previous year to an anticipated 400,000 for this edition. The fair also aims to strengthen cultural ties through the initiative 'Cultura Continua en Movimiento', enhancing its role in promoting literary culture in Mexico.
The Coyoacán International Book Fair not only showcases national talent but also includes international figures, underlining its importance as a cultural event in Mexico.
