In Latin America, Brazil and Argentina Lead Aviation Growth in 2025: ALTA

According to ALTA, Brazil and Argentina are set to significantly boost air traffic growth in Latin America by 2025, with Brazil emerging as the largest market.

The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA) reported that by 2025, air traffic in terms of passengers traveling to, from, and within Latin America and the Caribbean is expected to reach 477.3 million, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 3.8 percent. Notably, Brazil, Argentina, and Panama are anticipated to lead this growth, showing passenger increases above nine percent, while Mexico appears to be lagging behind in terms of market vigor.

Brazil has established itself as the dominant aviation market in the region, contributing significantly to the net increase in passenger numbers for 2025, which is forecasted to total 129.6 million travelers, marking a 9.4 percent annual rise. During this year, Brazil achieved historical records, surpassing 100 million domestic passengers for the first time, while international traffic also hit its highest ever, accommodating 28.4 million passengers. These milestones underscore Brazil's pivotal role in the region's aviation landscape.

In addition to Brazil's accomplishments, Argentina is also poised to show robust growth in its aviation sector. With a comparative surge in passenger numbers, the report indicates a bright future for air travel in Argentina, amplifying the overall regional performance. The emphasis on these two countries reflects broader trends in Latin America’s recovery from the pandemic and hints at a growing reliance on air travel as economic activities resume and expand across the continent.
