Santiago del Estero: a 42% increase for public employees and a bonus in four installments announced

The governor of Santiago del Estero announced a 42.4% salary increase for public employees and additional bonuses, amidst rising inflation.

In a recent announcement on social media, Governor Elías Suárez of Santiago del Estero declared a substantial 42.4% salary increase for public employees in the province, effective this month. This increase is notably higher than the current annual inflation rate of 32.4%, aiming to provide workers with greater financial relief amid economic challenges. The announcement is tied to ongoing discussions within a framework called the Dialogue and Work Table, which seeks to address the economic conditions of state employees.

In addition to the salary hike, Suárez revealed the implementation of four bonuses to be disbursed throughout the year. Some of these bonuses will also be issued in multiple installments, providing additional financial support for public sector workers. The effective minimum salary is set to reach 1,130,000 pesos, highlighting the government’s efforts to improve the standards of living for employees within the public service sector.

This wage increase and the corresponding bonuses reflect a concerted effort by the provincial government to combat the impacts of inflation and enhance worker welfare. Such measures are crucial as they not only provide immediate economic relief but also aim to stabilize the workforce in the face of rising living costs, indicating the provincial government’s commitment to supporting its public employees during these challenging economic times.
