Vivenda do Camarão, a restaurant chain in shopping malls, enters the wholesale market
The restaurant chain Vivenda do Camarão is expanding its operations into wholesale distribution, targeting major food industry players in Brazil.
Vivenda do Camarão, a renowned restaurant chain situated in food courts across Brazil, is branching into wholesale distribution. The chain has started negotiations with significant groups in the sector, such as Atacadão, Giga, Tenda, and Max Atacadista, aiming to serve as intermediaries between Vivenda and food service clients like bars and restaurants. Currently, Vivenda do Camarão caters to approximately 4,000 clients through its 'food service' segment, which contributes about 10% to the company's overall revenue.
While the chain has been successfully present in supermarkets within the retail segment, it is now looking to leverage its wholesale approach for greater market reach. The company has already established itself in 45 supermarket chains, including Carrefour, Pague Menos, Shibata, and the recently added Oba Hortifruti. With a strategic presence exceeding 650 sales points nationwide, Vivenda do Camarão plans to sell its seafood specialties, primarily shrimp and fish, through the wholesale channel, enhancing its product distribution across various food service sectors.
This strategic shift could substantially impact the competitive landscape within the food service industry in Brazil, as Vivenda do Camarão brings its popular menu items to a wider audience. Expanding into the wholesale market may bolster the company’s revenue streams while also increasing brand visibility among new clients. As the demand for seafood continues to rise, this move could position Vivenda do Camarão as a leader in the wholesale seafood supply chain.
