Woman who died in bus accident on BR-153 was returning from vacation with family
A tragic bus accident on BR-153 in Brazil resulted in the death of 29-year-old Rayane Dias Silva and injuries to 29 others as they were returning from a vacation.
Rayane Dias Silva, aged 29, tragically lost her life in a bus accident on the BR-153 highway in Aliança do Tocantins. She was traveling with her family and heading back to Buriticupu, Maranhão, after vacationing when their bus overturned late on Saturday night, resulting in her immediate death at the scene. Emergency services reported that a total of 30 individuals required medical attention, highlighting the severity of the incident as several passengers sustained significant injuries.
The bus had embarked from Pindaré Mirim, Maranhão, with a destination of Aparecida de Goiânia, Goiás. Among the injured, three individuals remain hospitalized, with one undergoing surgery for a broken clavicle and another dealing with pneumothorax-related complications. Additionally, another passenger who had initially been discharged returned to the hospital with a fractured arm. This incident raises concerns about road safety, particularly regarding passenger transport services in Brazil and adherence to safety regulations.
In response to the tragedy, the bus company, Viação VIP Brasil, has stated that they are providing support to Rayane's family and the other affected passengers. They have committed to covering all associated costs, including meals and medical expenses, reflecting the company’s responsibility in the wake of the incident.
