As Carnival celebrations take over the streets with thousands of attendees, health-related incidents can arise unexpectedly. To address potential health issues, the government of Maranhão has set up a comprehensive health care structure for the"Vem pro Mar" festival, ensuring quick and quality medical assistance for revelers during the Pre-Carnival and Carnival of 2026. The initiative highlights the state’s commitment to public safety during large gatherings.

Two field hospitals have been established on Avenida Litorânea, strategically located near Avenida Vale do Rio Pimenta and in the VIP area, specifically catering to urgent and emergency care. These units will enhance the existing state health network during peak public attendance days, drastically improving response times and the quality of care available to those in need. Inside the field hospitals, revelers can access medical and nursing care, medication administration, risk classification, clinical observation, and stabilization.
