The Military Police in Santarém, located in the west of Pará, Brazil, executed an arrest warrant for André Regis Gonzaga on Saturday, who was wanted for robbery. The police spotted Gonzaga in a public area during their operation and confirmed his identity through a system check, noting that he had an outstanding warrant. This arrest followed previous attempts where he managed to evade capture.

Gonzaga had a history of escaping from police cordons but was apprehended without incident this time, thanks to the thoroughness of the police operation. After being approached, the officers ensured Gonzaga was informed of his constitutional rights, a crucial step in adhering to legal protocols. In order to safeguard both the police and the detainee, the officers deemed it necessary to use handcuffs during the arrest process.

Following his apprehension, Gonzaga was transported to the 16th Urban Section of the Civil Police, where he was presented to the judicial authority for the necessary legal proceedings.
