City Hall begins the municipalization of 7 more state schools

The City Hall of São José dos Campos is set to start the municipalization process of seven state schools this year, aiming to integrate them into the local education network by 2027.

The City Hall of São José dos Campos has announced plans to commence the municipalization of seven state schools in the current year, intending for them to fully transition to the municipal education network by the 2027 school year. This move involves an administrative and pedagogical shift, allowing state schools to align with local educational directives.

With the municipalization, the local education network will accommodate an additional 4,482 students, comprised of 2,235 from the initial years and 2,247 from the final years of elementary education. This initiative is part of the broader Municipal Education Plan, which aims for a gradual municipal uptake of state-run elementary schools, thereby enhancing local governance and pedagogical autonomy within the educational framework.

The transition will be executed in collaboration with the São Paulo State Government and the Department of Education and Citizenship. This partnership is vital for ensuring proper technical planning, structural adjustments, and pedagogical organization necessary for a smooth transition to municipal control, reflecting a long-term vision for educational improvement in the region.
