EducaMob raises awareness among drivers for a safe carnival
A public awareness campaign was launched in São José dos Campos to educate drivers on the dangers of drinking and driving during the carnival season.
In an effort to create awareness among drivers during the carnival period, the city administration of São José dos Campos, through the EducaMob initiative and in partnership with RioSP and the Detran-SP, conducted an educational action called "Blitz do Carro Batido" on Wednesday, the 11th. This initiative was strategically placed on the Anel Viário (southern direction) and aimed to visually impact passersby to alert them about the risks associated with the combination of alcohol and driving.
One of the key features of the campaign was the display of a completely damaged vehicle alongside a four-meter high inflatable bottle, an impactful symbol of the real consequences of reckless choices on the road. The public's response to this initiative was overwhelmingly positive, indicating a shift in awareness regarding road safety during a high-risk season like carnival. Motorists who participated expressed the sentiment that such initiatives are crucial for cultural change towards responsible driving behavior.
Leonardo do Prado, one of the drivers approached during the blitz, emphasized the importance of enjoying the carnival responsibly, urging everyone to celebrate in a healthy manner and to avoid driving after consuming alcohol, as it could cost lives. This campaign underscores the need for continual public education on safety, particularly during festive seasons when the risks of intoxication-related accidents are heightened.
