Young Syrian expelled in case of serious violence

A young Syrian man will be expelled from Denmark due to involvement in serious violence, despite being a minor at the time of the offense.

The Danish Supreme Court has upheld the expulsion of a young Syrian man involved in a case of serious violence, confirming that his previous status as a minor does not exempt him from such a penalty. The man, who was 16 years old during the violent incident, was previously sentenced by the Vestre Landsret to one year and nine months in prison and expulsion for violently attacking a 14-year-old boy. Despite having lived in Denmark since the age of seven, the court focused on the severity of the crime and the manโ€™s subsequent violent behavior, leading to a six-year entry ban following his expulsion.
