10-month-old 'little angel' gives life to five, bids farewell with state honor

A 10-month-old baby girl from Kerala, Alin Sherin Abraham, became the state's youngest organ donor, saving five lives before her farewell with state honors.

On Sunday, Kerala bid a tearful farewell to 10-month-old Alin Sherin Abraham, who made history as the state's youngest organ donor. Her organs were recently donated, providing new life to five critically ill patients. The poignant situation turned the grief of one family into hope for five others. Renowned actor Kamal Haasan expressed his condolences, stating that Alin's legacy will help five more children live healthy lives.

The funeral took place at a church in Pathanamthitta, where the police rendered a state guard of honor. Kerala's Health Minister Veena George and Union Minister Suresh Gopi were in attendance, and the atmosphere was filled with sorrow, leaving many attendees in tears. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan remarked that the decision made by Alin's parents amidst such great sorrow is a testament to humanity, as their little girl provided a chance for five others to live.

The tragedy that led to this bittersweet outcome occurred on February 5, when Alin was traveling in a car with her mother and grandparents. They were involved in a severe accident caused by an oncoming vehicle, resulting in Alin suffering critical injuries, which ultimately led to her passing but allowed her organs to save the lives of five others.
