Why the SP Suspended the Entire SOG Team Cautiously?
In a significant move, the SP of Sambhal district, Krishna Kumar Vishnoi, suspended eight police officers from the SOG team over allegations of corruption and illegal extortion.
In a decisive measure against alleged corruption, the SP of Sambhal district, Krishna Kumar Vishnoi, has suspended eight members of the Special Operations Group (SOG) team, including its in-charge, due to serious accusations regarding misconduct. Complaints were received asserting that the SOG team had released an e-waste trader and two other individuals involved in an obscene video case in exchange for money. This prompted the SP to conduct an internal investigation, which uncovered substantial proof confirming the allegations against the team members.
The matter revolves around two primary complaints concerning corruption within the SOG. In the first incident, an e-waste trader from Bilari, Moradabad, named As Mohammad was detained on February 2, only to be released later after a monetary transaction with the SOG team. In the second case, based on an obscene video involving a young man and woman, two youths were arrested, followed by their release after similar illegal extortion. The internal investigation led by the SP validated the claims against the officers, revealing a consistency in the allegations of their involvement in corrupt practices.
The suspension of these officers raises questions about the integrity of the police force in Sambhal and highlights ongoing issues with corruption and illegal activities within law enforcement. This action taken by the SP signifies a strong stance against corruption and the need for reform in policing practices, aiming to restore public trust in law enforcement authorities in the region.
