Conexus will invest 8.1 million euros in the maintenance and development of the gas transmission network this year

Conexus plans to invest 8.1 million euros in the maintenance and development of its gas transmission infrastructure in Latvia this year, focusing on diagnostics, repairs, and various infrastructure upgrades.

Conexus has announced plans for a significant investment of 8.1 million euros aimed at enhancing the maintenance and development of its gas transmission network in Latvia. The allocation is divided into 2.1 million euros for infrastructure development and 6 million euros for ongoing maintenance efforts. These funds will be directed towards essential diagnostic tests, repair works, and strategic upgrades of the gas pipeline infrastructure.

The infrastructure development portion of the investment will focus on the reconstruction of six gas pipeline crossings with major roads and railways, which are of strategic significance. Specific projects include the reconstruction of the Rīga-Inčukalns PGK II gas line's crossings with the V74 (Ropaži-Podkājas) and A4 (Upesciems-Salaspils) roads, as well as the Vireši-Tallinn pipeline crossing with the V196 (Valmiera-Brenguļi) road and the railway segment Valmiera-Strenči, among others. This initiative aims to enhance operational safety in high-risk areas by modernizing critical pipeline intersections.

In parallel to infrastructure development, the majority of the investment will support the maintenance of gas transmission infrastructure. This includes conducting internal diagnostics of the gas pipeline from Izborsk to the Inčukalna underground gas storage facility, as well as the section from Pskov to Rīga. Such measures are crucial for ensuring the reliable and safe operation of the gas transmission system, especially in light of increasing energy demands and the need for modernized infrastructure.
