Another Start of A. Drukarovas at the Olympics – Trying for Success in the Slalom Event Amid Heavy Snow

A. Drukarovas aims for a successful slalom performance in challenging weather conditions at the Olympics.

On February 16, the first slalom run began at 11 AM Lithuanian time, with A. Drukarovas starting 61st among 96 participants. The second run, featuring all athletes who completed the first course, is scheduled for 2:30 PM Lithuanian time. The weather on Monday has been unfavorable for competition, with heavy snowfall causing many athletes to not finish their first runs.

Prior to this event, on February 11, A. Drukarovas competed in the 'Super G' event, finishing 31st. He then participated in the giant slalom events on February 14 and achieved a historic 23rd place for Lithuania in Olympic alpine skiing, marking the highest placement for the country in this discipline. The previous record was 25th place held by Linas Vaitkus, who competed in 1998 and achieved that result before Drukarovas was even born.

This marks the third Olympic appearance for A. Drukarovas. In the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympics, he finished 41st in the slalom and 59th in the giant slalom. These performances illustrate his ongoing commitment and improvement in the sport, aiming to achieve further success for himself and represent Lithuania on the international stage in alpine skiing.
