Norwegian ski jumper won a second gold at the Milan Cortina games

Norwegian ski jumper Anna Odine Ström secured her second gold medal in the women’s large hill event at the Milan Cortina Olympics, finishing with 284.8 points.

At the Milan Cortina Olympics, Norwegian ski jumper Anna Odine Ström triumphed in the women’s large hill event, earning her second gold medal with a score of 284.8 points. Ström outperformed her teammate Eirin Maria Kvandal, who scored 282.7 points, and Slovenia's Nika Prevci, who finished with 271.5 points. After the first round, Kvandal led the competition, but Ström's impressive second jump secured her victory.

This victory marks a significant achievement for Ström, as it is her first time securing two individual gold medals at a major championship. Previously, she had won two bronze medals at World Championships but had not clinched gold in individual events. Notably, she had also performed well in mixed team competitions, contributing to Norway's silver medal at the Olympics. Her recent success is a testament to her growth as a competitor since capturing first place at the World Cup stage in Rasnov earlier this year.

On the other hand, reigning World Cup champion Nika Prevci did not manage to secure a gold medal at these Olympics, instead settling for a silver in the normal hill event. Despite being a strong contender, her performance on the large hill only allowed her to place fifth after the first round, highlighting the competitive nature of the field and the challenges even top athletes can face at high-stakes competitions like the Olympics.
