Two civilians were injured in Sumy Oblast due to Russian attacks, with one additional man injured from triggering an explosive device.
On February 15, two women were injured during Russian attacks in Sumy Oblast, as confirmed by Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Sumy Oblast Military Administration. An enemy drone struck a residential structure in the Chernechchyna hromada, reportedly when no one was home, but a 61-year-old woman still suffered an acute stress reaction, necessitating on-site medical treatment. The attacks highlight the continued dangers posed by ongoing hostilities in Ukraine, particularly in civilian areas.
Additionally, a 43-year-old woman was hospitalized after an attack on her car in the Velykopysarivka hromada. The assaults reflect a worrying trend of targeting civilian infrastructure and individuals amidst the escalated conflict in the region. Such incidents not only cause immediate physical harm but also contribute to overall psychological distress among the affected populations, which is likely to have long-lasting implications.
Furthermore, a separate incident in the same hromada involved a man who sustained injuries after triggering an explosive device. The medical personnel responded promptly to provide necessary treatment, and the individual will continue his recovery as an outpatient. This incident underscores the perilous environment that remains prevalent despite ongoing efforts to stabilize the area, as unexploded ordnance continues to pose significant risks to residents.
