Russians kill man in Sumy Oblast and injure another

Russian drone attacks in Sumy Oblast resulted in the death of one civilian and injuries to another.

On February 10, Russian forces conducted targeted drone strikes in Sumy Oblast, leading to the death of a civilian man and injuries to another in separate incidents within the hromadas of Krasnopillia and Velyka Pysarivka. According to Oleh Hryhorov, the Head of the Sumy Oblast Military Administration, a drone strike in the Krasnopillia hromada targeted a civilian car, resulting in the death of the driver.

In another attack within the same hromada, a drone struck a vehicle involved in a funeral procession, although the driver managed to escape unharmed. Additionally, in the Velyka Pysarivka hromada, a drone explosion near a shop injured a 61-year-old man, who received immediate medical attention and is expected to undergo outpatient treatment as necessary.

The repetitive nature of these drone strikes represents an ongoing threat to civilian safety in Ukraine as Russian forces continue their aggressive assaults on populated areas. These incidents not only highlight the dangers faced by civilians but also raise concerns over the legality and ethics of warfare conducted in such a manner, targeting non-combatant populations, which is a violation of international humanitarian law.
