Qatar launches the 'Quran Teacher' program in schools and announces the revival of the religious institute in partnership with Awqaf
Qatar's education ministry is set to launch the 'Quran Teacher' program in 15 schools, aiming to enhance Quranic education alongside revitalizing religious institutes.
Qatar's Minister of Education and Higher Education, Lulwa bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al-Khater, announced the initiation of the 'Quran Teacher' program in 15 model schools following Ramadan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Quranic education in schools, complementing foundational language skills programs that have already benefited over 300 students and mark an expansion in teacher training.
In addition to the 'Quran Teacher' program, the minister revealed plans to revive the role of religious institutes focused on teaching Islamic jurisprudence and Arabic language. This revival aims to create a scientific and educational resource that fosters national identity and balanced religious awareness among students. The introduction of a girls' religious institute, established in partnership with Awqaf, underscores the effort to enhance complementary education in both academic and religious spheres.
The initiatives reflect Qatar's commitment to building well-rounded individuals through education that aligns with cultural and religious values. By integrating such programs into the school system and promoting teacher development, Qatar seeks to create a cohesive relationship between educational and religious institutions, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive education that nurtures both their intellectual and spiritual growth.
