Avalanche kills 2 French skiers

A tragic avalanche occurred yesterday morning in the Vesses channel, Val Veny, above Courmayeur, Italy, leading to the deaths of two French skiers. The avalanche swept away a group engaged in 'freeride' skiing, prompting immediate rescue efforts. Tragically, one additional skier was found in critical condition and was airlifted to the Molinette hospital in Turin. In the aftermath of the avalanche, rescue teams, comprising 15 members including technicians from the Aosta Valley Alpine Rescue and local financial police, along with medical personnel and rescue dogs, worked tirelessly for several hours to search for any other individuals who may have been trapped under the snow.
