Weather: African dust with rain and sporadic storms – Slight drop in temperature
Weather conditions today in Greece will include local rains and sporadic storms, particularly in the western regions and the Aegean Sea, accompanied by a slight drop in temperature and increased concentrations of African dust.
The National Meteorological Service of Greece has issued a forecast indicating that today, Monday, there will be temporary increased cloud cover with isolated rains across most regions, and sporadic storms primarily affecting the western areas and the Aegean Sea. The intensity of these weather phenomena may be strong in parts of the eastern Aegean and in the southern Ionian Sea and western and southern Peloponnese until the morning hours.
Additionally, snowfalls are expected in the northwestern mountainous regions starting from the afternoon. Concentrations of African dust will temporarily rise in the southeastern parts of Greece. Winds in the western regions will blow from the north-west at speeds of 4 to 6 Beaufort, gradually shifting to the west-southwest at 5 to 7 Beaufort, while in the eastern regions, winds will blow west-southwest at 4 to 6 Beaufort, with local gusts reaching up to 7 Beaufort.
The temperature is forecasted to see a slight drop, reaching between 14 to 17 degrees Celsius in the western and northern regions, while in the other areas, it will range from 16 to 18 degrees, and in the eastern and southern areas, it may locally reach up to 19 degrees Celsius. More detailed local forecasts will follow for regions including Macedonia and Thrace.
