The first incident occurred in Várzea Grande, located in the metropolitan region of Cuiabá, where the child, identified as Brayan Henrique Ramos de Souza, was reported to have drowned. The circumstances surrounding his death are still being investigated by local authorities.

The second incident took place in Juara, approximately 690 kilometers from Cuiabá, where another baby drowned while her grandmother was briefly out of sight. The child had exited through an unlocked kitchen door and fell into a nearby reservoir. Despite prompt intervention by the emergency services who transported her to the Municipal Hospital of Juara, resuscitation efforts proved unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
