Sesks marks a win in a speed stage at the unsuccessful Sweden rally; Evans triumphs in WRC stage

Latvian driver Sesks experienced a challenging Sweden rally, overcoming tire issues to secure a stage win, while the team's overall performance placed them 35th.

In the Sweden rally, Latvian driver Sesks, competing with the British 'M-Sport Ford' team in a 'Ford Puma Rally1' car, began the event with a 9th fastest time in the first stage. However, during the subsequent stages on Friday, the duo faced multiple issues with blown tires due to a miscalculation on tire pressure. This tire trouble coupled with a lack of spare tires forced them to withdraw from the competition temporarily, with a time penalty of 40 minutes assessed for the four stages they missed.

On Saturday, Sesks and co-driver Francis made a strong comeback by winning the second stage of the day, marking the 7th stage win for the Latvian driver in his WRC career. Despite not achieving the same level of success in the remaining stages that day, they managed to secure a solid position. On Sunday, they started strong with a fifth place but then dropped to tenth before finishing with a seventh-place finish in a special stage, the best for the 'M-Sport Ford' team.

Ultimately, Sesks and Francis finished the rally in 35th place overall, showcasing resilience through adversity and underlining the competitive nature of the WRC series. Their experience at the rally highlights the challenges faced by racing teams, particularly regarding tire management and strategic decisions during events.
