Serviti achieved two important victories in the Baltic League

Estonian handball club Põlva Serviti secured two critical wins against Lithuanian teams in the Baltic League this weekend.

This past weekend, Põlva Serviti, Estonia’s premier handball club, played two crucial matches in the Baltic League against Lithuanian teams. On Saturday, they faced their closest rival, Klaipeda Dragunas, winning with a score of 31:29. The match began intensively, and by the 19th minute, Põlva led 11:7. Notably, the Dragunas team struggled offensively, failing to score for nearly 15 minutes at the end of the first half, allowing Serviti to extend their lead to 16:10 by halftime.

In the second half, Klaipeda mounted a comeback, closing the gap to 21:24 by the 44th minute. The situation became tense when Serviti's captain, Hendrik Varul, received a red card five minutes later. However, goaltender Eston Varuski stepped up with critical saves that helped maintain Serviti’s lead, ultimately securing the victory at 31:29. Furthermore, in the Sunday match against Granitas-Karys from Kaunas, Serviti initially trailed but took control by the fifth minute, leading to a convincing win with a final score of 45:32.

These victories not only enhance Serviti’s standing in the Baltic League but also demonstrate their resilience and capacity to perform under pressure, especially with the challenges faced during the match against Klaipeda. Such performances are vital for the team’s morale and could have significant implications for their campaign in the league, as they look to solidify their position among the Baltic handball elite.
