Weather Update: A Bit More Cold, But Spring is Knocking at the Door

Lithuania recorded an extreme cold in Skuode, reaching a record low temperature of -29.8°C, which may be broken again soon.

Lithuania is currently facing a record-breaking cold wave, with Skuode recording a new low of -29.8 degrees Celsius on Sunday night, surpassing a 62-year-old record. The previous low for February 15 was recorded in 1964 in Utena at -27.1 degrees Celsius. According to forecaster Vytautas Sakalauskas from the Lithuanian Meteorological Service, there is a possibility of additional cold records being set in the upcoming days, particularly on February 16, where the lowest temperature has been historically observed.
