Evans at the forefront of Toyota's fourfold victory at the Swedish Rally

Elfyn Evans secured first place at the Swedish Rally, leading Toyota to a fourfold victory in the WRC.

In the second round of the World Rally Championship (WRC) season in Sweden, the Toyota team achieved a remarkable fourfold victory, with Elfyn Evans taking the top spot. Evans led the rally from the very beginning on Saturday morning and maintained his lead throughout, ultimately finishing first with a total of 29 points, propelling him to the top of the championship standings. He started the competition on Sunday with a 13.3-second lead over teammate Takamoto Katsuta, which he managed to increase over the course of three stages.

Sami Pajari finished in third place, while Oliver Solberg came in fourth, both trailing Evans by considerable margins. Following Toyota's dominance, a trio of Hyundai drivers took the next three positions, with Adrien Fourmaux finishing fifth, Esapekka Lappi sixth, and Thierry Neuville in seventh. Neuville also secured first place in a points stage, showcasing Hyundai's potential despite Toyota's overall success in this rally.

As a result of this performance, Elfyn Evans not only claimed victory but also added crucial points to his championship total, bringing his score to 60 points after two rounds, positioning him ahead of Solberg at 47 points and Katsuta at 30 points. This rally solidified Toyota's competitive edge in the ongoing championship season and set the stage for future events.
